On the 4th of July, we woke up to dreary weather.  The sky was overcast, with a mist in the air.  In short, it was not a beach day.

Looking for something non-beachy to do, DT and I headed over to the Village of Padanaram.  I had never even heard its name before we decided to make the quick drive over there.  While technically part of South Dartmouth, the village has its own distinct vibe.  Picture a teeny, tiny Newport, Rhode Island.

It was a holiday, so most of the shops were closed, but we did pop into Vineyard Vines, some antique shops, and a gallery or two.  We also grabbed lunch and drinks at the Sail Loft,  a great spot with a view of the marina.  I ate a gigantic teriyaki burger that had a tempura pineapple on it.  It was incredible.  DT went more authentic and had clam chowder topped with haddock, which was also delicious.

Other places we wanted to check out, but didn't get a chance to were Black Bass Grille, The Beach Plum Cafe,  and Dockside Ice Cream.  It's always nice to have a reason to go back to a fun place.
