Morning Skin Care Routine

Ask and you shall receive!

On Instagram (@smartificial_), I threatened to do some skin care posts and incredibly, you guys were into it!  So here we are, one awkward photo shoot later, to tell you all about my morning skin care routine.

Now, I'm new to this whole skin care and product thing, but I'm really happy with what I've been using lately.  Time to share that knowledge!

First things first, I was my face.  Game-changer, I know.  I switch back and forth between classic Cetaphil (super gentle and cleansing) and GlamGlow's ThirstyCleanse for when I need something to really moisturize my skin.

The Cetaphil is your standard cleanser - wet your face with warm water, lather up the product, wash your face, and rinse with warm water.  The ThirstyCleanse gets a little bit crazy though.  You rub it on your face dry, then slowly incorporate water, which turns the mud into a foamy lather.

Once my face is nice and clean, I use my dermatologist prescribed sulfacetamide.  This helps prevent breakouts and gets deep into your pores.  Honestly, since I started using this (and my night time Retinol - that post will be up next week), I really haven't had any major breakouts.  Obviously, everyone's skin is different, so my advice is to find a great dermatologist who can help you find what works for you.

Step three is moisturizer.  I don't wear make-up, but I still want my skin to look clean and even.  Most days, I reach for Perricone's Moisturizer with Tint (and SPF - so key).  It gives my skin that uniform look, tones down any redness, and feels good going on.  If I want an extra dewy look, I'll grab GlamGlowGlowStarter Illuminating Moisturizer.  A little of this goes a long way.  It smells like Skittles, which is incredible, and it really gives your skin major illumination.

Rub that stuff in and your skin will thank you.  It catches the light perfectly.

That's my whole routine!  Afterwards, depending on what my plan is for the day, I'll add either eyeliner or mascara, maybe some blush, and either moisturizing chapstick or lip color.

I'm a big fan of keeping things simple.  When you find products that work for you, stick to them.

Your skin will thank you!

Check back next week for my night time routine!
