For Your (Weekend) Consideration
To say I'm heartbroken about how the election turned out is an understatement. I truly believed that we were better, smarter, more tolerant, more empathetic and less scared, weak, and hateful than Trump thought us to be. Although I could write a scathing rant about how terrible and bleak things feel right now (and they do), I want to focus on the good that we can do. Here is a list of organizations that support women, children, LBGTQ communities, minorities, immigrants, the planet, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and many other things that may be in danger because of Republican control. Please consider donating - any amount helps.
We will get through this, together. Love still trumps hate.

It's sweater season! Here's a fantastic round-up for you ;)
Diana Moskovitz does fantastic work over at Deadspin. This time, she looks at how a zero tolerance policy on domestic violence actually is harmful to the very people we need to protect - the victims.
I love all these stories of Cubs fans finally seeing them win a World Series! This one is a serious tearjerker.
If you want long-term birth control, consider getting an IUD before the Affordable Care Act is repealed. Talk with your doctor to find out if it would be a good fit for you.
Mermaids is one of my favorite movies from childhood. Glad I'm not alone!
Cults! French aristocracy! Mission: Impossible style unmaskings! This story has it all! Seriously though, this is bonkers.
