Nothing better than a hellish commute on a Monday morning!  That's just life getting me back into the swing of things I suppose.

This past weekend was carefree and lovely and breezy and wonderful.  Friday night, the torrential downpours led us to have a little hurricane party, where we drank Hurricanes, ate pizza, and watched the Celtics beat the Heat! Saturday morning I was up bright and early in order to head off to the second annual start of Hot Pants Brunch Club, celebrated at Art and Soul.  We sat outside, enjoyed the sun and the breeze, ate some delicious food (raisin biscuit things were to die for), and sampled some seriously great cocktails.  Post-brunching, we headed home to the pool and had some friends over to enjoy it as well.  Saturday night was low-key.  DT and I watched a couple more episodes of The Wire, and didn't do much else.

Sunday morning I woke up relatively early again to do some baking.  I tried making lemon bars, but they did not turn out great, so I ended up tossing them.  Disappointing, but now I know - chocolate is where it's at.  I spent about an hour by the pool before heading off to our (probably) last soccer game of the season.  We were down 1-0 most of the game, but pulled out a goal right at the end to finish in a draw, which won't get us into the playoffs, but is a much better way to end a game and a season than a loss.  More pool time, a homemade dinner, Game of Thrones season finale, and another Celtics win over the Heat capped off a great lazy weekend.  Now, let's focus on getting to Friday again.
